Project Overview:
University course and examination timetabling is one of the most important and time-consuming problem in the universities. UTime: University Course and Examination Timetabling System is an effective solution that can optimize the solution for the timetable management in order to eliminate and minimize the number of conflicts. The system is hybrid by applying a heuristic approach and Ant Colony Optimization (ACO). The key features of our algorithm are the use of simplified pheromone matrices (representing event-timeslots and event-room relations, respectively) in order to improve convergence but still provide enough flexibility for effectively guiding the solution during construction process of generating timetabling. UnISZA is using UTime almost 10 years starting 2014 and few university oppoint the project leader as a consultant.
